If you missed the Eastside Culture Crawl in November, here is another chance.

I will be in my studio on the fourth floor (#424) 1000 Parker Street (entrance on George Street), from 10 am to 4 pm on Thursday and Friday, 18th and 19th February
I will also be there from 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday 13th (as the main door will be closed on the weekend please phone me at 604 688 5544 and I will come down and let you in)

The Eastside Culture Crawl is an annual FREE 3-day visual arts festival. This event involves artists in their studios in an area of Vancouver BC, bounded by Main Street to Commercial Drive and from First Avenue north to the waterfront.

Art in London and Paris

I recently travelled to England and France and saw some fabulous art including Michael Raedecker at the Camden Arts Centre (where I took pottery classes when I was 10 years old) who “uses a unique combination of thread and paint to create his atmospheric paintings.”

In Paris, I was particularly captivated by Alexander Calder’s wire portraits and sculptures at the Pompidou Centre. Watch video from minute 3:15 to 5:00 to get a sense of his use of line and shadow. (NB. the sound in the video is erratic so you may just want to watch on mute).

I am pleased to announce that the four enormous glass pyramids of Edmonton’s unique botanical gardens—The Muttart Conservatory—have now been joined by a fifth pyramid. My first commissioned public sculpture was unveiled a few weeks ago at the Conservatory’s newly renovated entrance.

“It is not a complicated conceptual piece; even people not familiar with art can understand it. They can see the connections between the intricacies of a simple leaf structure and the inner workings of a city…”

Unite With Art – Art Auction and Gala

Collaborations with dancer/choreographer Simone Orlando

In 2000 and 2001, I participated in a number of collaborations with dancer/choreographer Simone Orlando and composer Scott Bishop. We created dance performances for 12 Minutes Max and Dancing on the Edge festivals in Vancouver as well as a projected image and video installation for the opening of the Scotiabank Dance Centre in Vancouver.
